The Mathematical Formula For Health
By: Kevin Hinton

I received my tuition in 'Pure Naturopathy' from the eminent Kenneth S, Jaffrey who studied under Professor Edmond Bordeaux Szekely.

Mr. Jaffrey often praised the genius of Prof. Szekely by saying that Szekely put Naturopathy in its correct position within the field of health and healing by applying mathematics to health.

Mathematics is a pure science ? a language on its own ? a laboratory in which we can verify quantitative results.

It is into this laboratory that we go to determine the types and amounts of foods that the human body needs to sustain itself in pristine health.

The blood stream is the river of life, so to speak, within all animals.

In the human animal the blood should remain at a Ph factor of approximately 7.4 ? slightly alkaline.

In order to achieve this level a certain percentage and weight of foods should be assimilated.

The average person needs approximately 1500 gms of food per day.

Of this amount:

? 750 gms should be fruit

? 500 gms should be raw vegetable

? 150 gms of starch and

? 80 gms of protein

It goes without saying that the foods eaten in this quantity should be of the highest quality ? organically grown when possible.

What happens if we eat more than these amounts?

? The body either lays down the excess in a non-useable form or

? It is forced to eliminate and excrete the metabolic wastes produced.

Either of these options limits the body?s reserve of available energy and/or clogs up the functioning of the system.

How can we be certain of the amount of food we are eating?

I recommend to all my clients that one of the first tools they purchase for their kitchen is a small set of scales ? simple ones that weigh up to a kilogram.

And then for the first month or so of their transition to a natural diet they should weigh the food that they eat.

Only by doing this will they take control of the mathematical formula that equates to health in their diet.

And to those who have done this already and think that they are ?on track? may I suggest a periodical check-up of the amount of food that you are now eating ? it?s surprising how the amounts creep up over a period of time

All the best in all we do,
